Spring has sprung and our thoughts are turning to slowpitch softball! We have over 400 teams in 20 leagues around the country all getting ready for the new season, which will start either by the end of the month or at the beginning of May.

Are you looking to get started or interested in joining a team?
In London, BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK), the development agency for both sports, will be running slowpitch softball training sessions every Wednesday evening at 19.00 until 21.00 from April 28 through to June 2 at Old Deer Park, next to the A316 in Richmond (meet near the Leisure Centre).  The sessions are open to men and women of all abilities and split into beginner and advanced groups as required. Sessions cost £5 each or £20 for all six with equipment provided, should you need it.  BSUK plans to create new teams and leagues so that those who attend will have a place to play.

If you fancy attending a session, or want some more information then you can contact BSUK’s London Regional Coach Celine Lassaigne. If you are an existing player looking for a team to join for the 2010 outdoor season then you can contact Ollie Gillman from the Greater London Softball Mixed League. Ollie will match players to teams in London’s best open league.

If you don’t live in London, there are also slowpitch leagues in the following cities and towns:

Bristol, Portsmouth, Windsor, Redhill, Fakenham, Oxford, Coventry, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

All of our leagues welcome new players and run sessions to teach the game to newcomers. To make contact with Celine, Ollie or a member of our team then follow the link to our site:
