Sport England and the charity Leonard Cheshire Disability have joined forces to launch Yoodo Sports, a new project to help people with disabilities take up and enjoy sport.
Yoodo Sports will bring disabled people together with activity ‘buddies’ – people who may or may not have an impairment themselves but want to help others play sport or be active. This initiative will make it easier to find someone to exercise with and have fun. Find out more»
Lords see community sport in action
Disabled children and young people from Camden met two members of the House of Lords during a visit to Swiss Cottage School to see grassroots sport in action.
Baroness Young of Hornsey and Baroness Henig, members of the House of Lords EU Sub-Committee on Social Policies and Consumer Protection, met Camden Council’s Disability Sport and Physical Activity team to see how sport is being provided for disabled people in the borough. Find out more»
Sportsmatch re-opens with improvements for 2011
Sport England’s Chair, Richard Lewis, today urged grassroots sports organisations to look at how they could benefit from the Sportsmatch programme, which has been re-launched for 2011-12.
