A healthy debate for Sport
Sport England today has urged the sport sector to join the debate on public health and speak up about sport’s role in improving the health of the nation.

The Government is consulting on its proposals to tackle lifestyle-driven health problems, which involve ring-fencing an annual budget of £4bn for public health to be invested at a local level.

Women get active to mark the launch of Us Girls
Hundreds of young women have taken part in a day of sport to mark the official launch of the Us Girls initiative, funded by Sport England.

The project aims to get 30,000 young women living in disadvantaged communities more active by boosting opportunities for them to play sport within their local communities.

Child protection achievement for CSPs
All 49 county sports partnerships have now successfully achieved the advanced level of the Standards for Safeguarding Children in Sport.

The standards provide a framework or audit tool for all those involved in sport to help them create a safe sporting environment for children and young people and protect them from harm.

The standards also seek to provide a benchmark to help those involved in sport make informed decisions, promote good practice and challenge practice that is harmful to children.
